Happy New Year!

A Very Merry Christmas to you and yours! Welcome 2014!

Hello to all. I have dug out my Christmas Cards - made or purchased years ago and have
yet to pen to paper, - seems that life is very busy but we don't have much to report.

We are enjoying the Christmas break - we have embraced the low light and long nights and sleep well into the morning. I believe I will have to get up almost 4 hours earlier than the new normal once I start back at work. Yikes!

Snow has been the theme this break. We have had over 34 cm since Christmas and had a dump of 34 cm in mid December. They say it is still not a record but who are 'they' anyway? We are taking advantage of the snow to ski almost everyday.

Highlights from the fall include:

Hallowe'en and Hunting

Our Mira turning 14!!!!!

Cross country skiing and lots of it.. here is the all squad photo.
( Paul is second red coat from left, Kate is first blue coat in front row 5 from left and Mira is in the back row, third to the right of the sign).

Due to the fact that I tend to like to plant stuff under wires (it is always the best spot in the yard!), we had to harvest our Christmas tree from the yard this year. This resulted in space for us to hang our clothes line again.. and a beautifully full if not spherical Christmas tree. It took all four of us to get it in the house. This resulted in giggles and spruce needles everywhere.... it was -40c when we brought the poor tree in and apparently the 55 degree temperature change can cause some needles to drop... who would have guess?

Bring the tree in.....
